FAQ

Food

What food should I expect?

Each of our experiences offer a wide range of different foods, so it is best to check each experience individually for a more detailed answer. Beware that there might even be small changes due to seasonality when it comes to fruits and seafood. However, we are a Peruvian Culinary Experiences company, so all the classics like ceviche, lomo saltado, causa rellena (and even guinea pig sometimes!) are very likely to be on the menu. So, if you were looking for couscous and tacos you are probably at the wrong place.

Do we eat a lot during the tours? Does it constitute a meal?

Definitely! We recommend not eating anything else other than a light snack before our experiences.

What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

Unfortunately, we currently don’t have the resources to cater our experiences to vegetarians, vegans or people with religious diet restrictions. However, if you suffer any allergy, make sure to inform us during checkout and we will take the necessary precautions.

There are alcoholic beverages served on the tours. What if I don’t drink alcohol?

In many of our activities alcoholic beverages are served. However, if you do not drink alcohol, don’t worry we will provide a non-alcoholic drink instead. Of course, no alcoholic beverages will be served to our guests under 18 years of age.

How do Exquisito Perú benefits local communities?

Our tours and activities support local economy through local guides, visits to new entrepreneurs and small local restaurants. But that’s just the start of it. We have developped a partnership with the NGO Action Against Hunger Peru trough our social impact program 1 tour = 1 meal which means every tour bought give a meal to an in-need Peruvian family in Ayacucho. Finally, we are committed to provide experiences that are culturally, environmentally and socially responsible.

Is the tour wheelchair and baby stroller accessible?

Yes you can! Taking part to our tour, you’ll get the chance to meet other traveler foodies. True, we need a minimum of two people to organize the tour, but don’t be afraid to book even if you’re alone, we might have other booking for that same day, or if it’s really not possible, we will try to switch you over to another time if it’s ok for you. If not, we will fully reimburse you and hope you’ll be back to Lima soon!
