    color/negro
You will start off with a biodiversity work where you will get the chance to discover numerous ingredients from different regions of Peru that you have probably never heard of. Some fruit tasting will be on the menu, which will be followed by a chocolate tasting session and a fun quiz!
Next, accompanied by your guide, you will be heading to the first restaurant where the Amazon, a.k.a. selva will be the star. You will have the opportunity to taste delicious bites from the jungle. All this from Lima – how cool?
The third stop will all be about the Andes. Although tourists typically will associate Andean cuisine with cuy and pachamanca, you will quickly realize there's so much more to this part of Peru.
To punctuate the journey on a high note, the Pacific Coast will be the vedette. You will indulge yourself in a mostly fish and shellfish round of bites before getting some dessert.

Testimonials

  • One of a kind experience

Best. Food. Tour. Ever. For 4 hours we learned about the different foods, styles and cultures of the coastal, highland and Amazonian foods. Our guide, Dulce, was personable and informative. We had several drinks and ate at three amazing restaurants with creative and delicious food. This is an EXCLUSIVE tour and we gained entrance into two of Lima’s top restaurants and were treated like VIP’s. If you want a unique and memorable food experience in Lima, this is a must!

  • Make sure you go hungry!

Lucia was our tour guide for this private tasting experience. We started at an artisanal chocolate place to taste different chocolates from all over Peru. The owner was an anthropologist who is helping small cocoa farmers market and sell their products for a fair price. We then went to 3 different restaurants that specialized in the food of specific regions, Amazonian, Coastal and Highlands. Very diverse.

Questions?

  • 01 What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?
    color/negro
If you suffer any allergy or dietary restrictions, make sure to inform us in the checkout notes or via email once you completed your booking so we can take all the necessary precautions. Please note that this gourmet food tour can't be adapted for those who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet, and some allergies might be too complicated to cater for depending on seasonality. This is at the discretion of the restaurants we visit during this tour. If that's the case, we will inform you as quickly as possible, cancel and refund your booking. While our goal is to be as inclusive as possible, we are unfortunately unable to offer halal and kosher alternatives at the moment due to the difficulty for some Peruvian restaurants to acquire and stock item with such characteristics.
  • 02 Do we eat a lot during this gourmet tour? Does it constitute a meal?
    color/negro
Definitely! We recommend not eating anything else other than a light meal before this experience. The portions served at each stop are sized like in a typical multiple-course gourmet meal.
  • 03 Can you pick me up and drop me off from/at any location?
    color/negro
Pick up and drop off is included within the neighborhoods of Miraflores, Barranco and San Isidro. For other locations, it can be arranged at an extra cost from/to pretty much anywhere in the city. Of course price will vary depending on the distance and the type of vehicle you need for your party. If you want to be picked up or dropped off in your hotel, at the airport, the Callao cruise port, the historic center of Lima or a museum, please reach out to us and we will send you a quote in no time!
  • 04 Do I have to book in advance?
    color/negro
We recommend to book at least 1 week in advance to make sure it's not sold out, but we accept bookings up to 48 hours before the tour starts.
  • 05 Is this food tour physically demanding?
    color/negro
Not at all! A car/van/bus will be accompanying the group for the whole duration of the tour.
  • 06 I’m a solo traveller. Can I book this tour too?
    color/negro
For this tour, bookings are currently only available for parties of at least two people.
  • 07 Can I book this Lima gourmet tour as a private tour?
    color/negro
Absolutely! This Lima gourmet tour only operates in private. You can book a private food tour for your party as is (via the "Book Now" button), or you can customize this tour so it caters to your needs and expectations (reach out to us via email). color/negro
If you do not drink alcohol, don’t worry! We will provide non-alcoholic drinks instead. Please make sure you add that information in the "Additional comments" section when finalizing your booking. No alcoholic beverages will be served to our guests under 18 years of age.
  • 09 Is this tour wheelchair accessible?
    color/negro
Unfortunately, this tour is only partially wheelchair accessible. Sadly, the first stop is only accessible through a staircase. The good news is that we would still be able to offer you a tailor-made tour to adapt to your needs without that first stop. Reach out to us via email to make this possible.
  • 10 Do you offer any other tour?
    color/negro
Yes, we have several food tours in the bank. Each of them offer a different perspective on Peruvian gastronomy. We like to think we have an option for all budgets and interests! Although we specialize in food tourism, if you'd like to visit a museum, or another area of Lima not covered by one of our tours, please do let us know – we will for sure be able to arrange something with the help of our trusted partners.
  • 11 Is Lima safe?
    color/negro
Just like in any big city, you have to be careful with your belongings in crowded areas. Of course, Peru being a country with big inequalities showing off the latest smartphone or an expensive watch in the street could unfortunately make you a target for thieves. But if you keep a low profile, you should be more than fine!
  • 12 How likely am I to get sick?
    color/negro
With our tour, extremely unlikely. All the stops are carefully vetted by our team and we run regular checks to make sure they maintain the same standards, both in terms of quality of the food as well as hygiene. Food poisoning is of course something that shouldn't be ignored in Peru, so we always recommend to eat or drink at places that were recommended by at least one local person, combined with positive online reviews.
