What to expect
Hone your cooking skills in a convivial Peruvian family atmosphere. During this cooking class, you will taste up to 10 flavors, which includes a starter and a dish that you’ll cook yourself following the recipes and tips of your experienced chef. The experience includes the visit to a local street market where you will buy the ingredients needed for the cooking class, from your chef’s favorite merchants. The market tour will also allow you to taste some seasonal fruits and immerse yourself in a true local market experience – you will be the only tourists, for sure!
Map the experience
Although the experience starts at your chef's market at 11:00 am, you will be picked up by taxi at your desired location in Miraflores, San Isidro or Barranco districts (included in the price) between 10:20 and 10:45 am. We will follow up with you about this via email after your booking.
The experience ends at your chef's apartment around 3 pm. From there, you will be dropped off by a taxi at your desired location in Miraflores, San Isidro or Barranco districts (included in the price).
- What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies? Can we modify slightly the menu listed above?
If you suffer any allergy or dietary restrictions, make sure to inform us during the check-in and we will take the necessary precautions to adapt the menu for you.
- Will you send us the recipes of the meals we’ll have prepared during the experience?
Of course! Right after the cooking class, we’ll send you a digital book with the recipes and tips learned during the day.
- Is this cooking class family friendly? If I am bringing an infant/very young child, do I need to purchase a ticket for them?
Of course you can! Children will certainly love discovering new flavors! If you’re traveling with a child under 6 or an infant, there is no need to buy a ticket for them. However, still let us know if you’re going to bring a child under 6, so our chef knows and will be prepared for it.
We had such a great experience with Pìa walking around in the market with her and then the cook session at her place. She is a very dedicated guide to her guests and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to have an authentic view of Lima's food topic.
When I met Pia at the market, she was so friendly that I knew the day was going to be a good one! In the market, I got to taste some local fruits that I absolutely loved! We walked around, chatting, while picking up additional ingredients for our dishes. Heading back to Pia’s to cook, we made a wonderful lunch. I love being hands on. I was totally stuffed and satisfied after lunch. Thank you so much to Exquisito Peru and Pia for a wonderful experience!
We had an amazing day with Pia. At the market we could taste different local fruits and afterwards we went to her flat, where we started cooking. Pia was amazing, she is so friendly and she answered all our questions about Peru and food. The food we cooked was so delicious and I will definitely cook it again. We had a lot of fun and felt warmly welcomed.
